Neuro optometry

Most of the people know Optometry that deals with the eyes but relatively few are aware of Neuro-Optometry and Behavioral Optometry which are extended studies of Optometry. There are more than 1 million people sustain traumatic brain injuries each year. Following a brain injury, there is often a disruption in communication between the eyes and the brain. Neuro-optometry is a special field of vision care that combines neurology and optometry to assess how the brain processes information sent from the eyes.

Neuro-optometrist is a person who may have practiced brain injury, stroke, double vision balance and mobility issues, and loss of one eye, light sensitivity, post trauma vision syndrome, or visual midline shift syndrome. Advance field of neuro science and medicine is brain imaging technology. It is an ability to see inside and read a human brain, the ethical and social implication of neuroimaging grow ever greater, shaped by both capabilities of the technology itself.
